Myles Smith, Elmiene, and indie duo Good Neighbours have been announced as the nominees for the 2025 Brit Rising Star Award.
Partnered with BBC Radio 1, the accolade celebrates emerging talent selected by a panel of industry experts.
The winner will be unveiled on December 5, ahead of the Brit Awards ceremony on March 1.
Myles Smith, a 26-year-old from Luton, expressed his honor at being nominated.
Named BBC Introducing’s Artist of the Year earlier this month, he rose to fame with his viral acoustic cover of Sweater Weather in 2022 and his breakout single Stargazing, which peaked at number four in the charts.
“Music became my way of understanding the world and connecting with others,” said Myles, who has since performed at Glastonbury and even featured on Barack Obama’s summer playlist.
Oxford-born soul singer Elmiene also shared his gratitude, likening the nomination to an unexpected bonus.
Named one to watch by BBC Radio 1 earlier this year, Elmiene released two EPs in 2024 and has worked with major artists like Stormzy.
Despite his early reluctance toward songwriting, a viral video of him singing in 2021 launched his career, earning him over a million monthly listeners and support from stars like Missy Elliott and SZA.
Good Neighbours, an East London indie duo composed of Scott Verrill and Oli Fox, complete the nominees.
Their debut single Home has become the most-streamed debut of 2024, amassing over 450 million global streams. Known for their uplifting sound, they described the nomination as “a dream come true.”
The Rising Star Award, introduced in 2008, has launched the careers of artists like Sam Fender, FLO, and Griff.
Last year’s winners, The Last Dinner Party, went on to release a chart-topping debut album and sell out a tour.
