Nelly has announced the much-anticipated return of his fashion brand Apple Bottoms in 2024, but he’s adamant about not labeling it as a comeback.
Taking to Instagram on Saturday (April 13), the MC shared sketches of upcoming looks from the brand, originally founded by him in 2003. Alongside a photo featuring women in the iconic jeans, he captioned the post: “2024 DON’T CALL IT A COMEBACK..!! ..http://Applebottoms.com.”
The announcement comes amidst recent headlines surrounding Nelly, particularly when Joyner Lucas broke his silence about rumors of a romantic involvement with Ashanti in 2020.
This speculation arose after the duo collaborated on the rapper’s “Fall Slowly” music video.
During an interview with The Jason Lee Podcast, Joyner Lucas opened up about his relationship with the “Foolish” singer before her reconciliation with Nelly last year. He spoke fondly of Ashanti, expressing happiness for her as she prepares to welcome a baby.
Joyner Lucas admitted to discussing the prospect of having children with Ashanti but felt he wasn’t ready to commit at that point in his life.
Nonetheless, he emphasized his love and admiration for her, highlighting her remarkable personality and longevity in the music industry.
When asked about their age difference, Joyner Lucas expressed a preference for older women, noting their intellectual compatibility and understanding.
He downplayed the significance of the age gap between him and Ashanti, emphasizing their connection on a deeper level.
