The announcement was made through New Orleans’ Smoothie King Center’s Instagram account on Monday, March 18, citing doctor’s orders as the reason for the decision.
In the statement, Minaj’s ongoing illness was highlighted, with concerns raised about the potential risk of spreading illness to others and the artist’s inability to deliver the expected performance.

Efforts are currently underway to secure a new date for the concert, and ticket holders are advised to retain their tickets until further notice.
Leading up to the scheduled performance, Nicki Minaj had hinted at her deteriorating health condition. In the days preceding the event, the artist revealed experiencing symptoms suggestive of COVID-19.
Taking to social media, specifically X on March 16, Minaj reached out to her devoted fan base, known as Barbz, seeking healing energy.
Despite her efforts to push through, Minaj acknowledged feeling unwell and anticipated potential changes in her voice during her upcoming appearance on Station Head, a social audio platform.
