Nicole Kidman credits her enduring passion for acting as the key to avoiding burnout in a career that spans decades.
At The Gothams Annual Film Awards on Dec. 2, the Oscar-winning actress shared what keeps her motivated amid a busy schedule that includes The Perfect Couple, Lioness season two, and the upcoming film Babygirl.
“I’m just so, so passionate about what I do,” Nicole told E! News.
“I love acting, and I love being with people that are so inspiring. A great script is a great script. It’s not burnout—it’s staying incredibly grateful for opportunities and the ability to work with people that I love.”
Nicole’s dedication also extends to championing women in the film industry.
She has collaborated with 15 female directors over the last seven years, exceeding her goal of working with one every 18 months.
“I love supporting women as writers and directors and trying to balance that in the industry,” she shared on The Graham Norton Show.
On her work with Babygirl director Halina Reijn, she said, “It was just good—exciting, bold, and out of my comfort zone.”
Beyond acting, Nicole is committed to creating opportunities for others in the industry.
“I can create more work for people. I can create jobs for people,” she told Variety.
“And also, I love it. I have the passion. I’ve just got to take care of my body. I wish I had superpowers because I would love to be everywhere.”
