More than 100 individuals are preparing to sue rap mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs for sexual assault, rape, and exploitation, with some alleged victims claiming abuse occurred when they were as young as nine years old.
Texas-based lawyer Tony Buzbee, representing the victims, stated that his team will aggressively pursue the matter and investigate any individuals or entities involved in the alleged abuse.
According to Buzbee, the accusations span incidents between 1991 and 2023, taking place in cities such as Los Angeles, New York, and Miami, with many incidents occurring after 2015.
The allegations include claims of date rape at parties hosted by Combs, including album release events and New Year’s Eve celebrations.
Many of the victims were reportedly aspiring musicians who were promised career opportunities in exchange for sexual favors. Buzbee emphasized that victims were often coerced or given drug-laced drinks before being assaulted.
A significant number of alleged victims were minors, with one nine-year-old boy claiming he was sexually abused at a recording studio while trying to secure a record deal.
Combs, currently in federal custody facing criminal charges of racketeering and sex trafficking, has denied all allegations.
His attorney, Erica Wolff, called the accusations “false and defamatory,” and expressed confidence in proving Combs’ innocence in court.
The lawsuit is not a class action but will involve individual cases for each of the 120 alleged victims, half of whom are male.
Buzbee’s legal team has reportedly received over 3,000 phone calls from individuals claiming abuse by Combs, and they are working to vet an additional 100 cases.
The lawyer referred to the accusations as the “biggest secret in the entertainment industry,” stating that the wall of silence has finally been broken.
