Buket Komur, an emerging actress and University of East Anglia (UEA) graduate, has landed a breakthrough role in Channel 4’s new zombie drama Generation Z, where she stars alongside British TV legends Robert Lindsay and Anita Dobson.
Despite her excitement, Komur admitted she initially did not recognize her famous co-stars, as she grew up watching Turkish TV shows rather than British sitcoms.
Komur reflected on her unique experience, saying, “I got to have a chill and very personal introduction to them,” appreciating the opportunity to learn from their “wealth of experience.”
Lindsay, best known for Citizen Smith and My Family, and Dobson, iconic for her role as Angie Watts in EastEnders, are joined by other British actors like Sue Johnston and Johnny Vegas in Generation Z.
Komur’s passion for acting has been lifelong.
A self-described “bookworm” as a child, she eagerly attended acting classes and pursued a joint degree in film studies and English literature at UEA.
Her acting journey began with a TV debut in ITV’s Honour in 2019.
Reflecting on her path, she said, “Figuring it out in your heart what you love about it is the most important thing, then just going for it.”
