Sean “Diddy” Combs, the prominent hip-hop mogul, has been denied bail once again in a sex-trafficking case where he faces serious charges, including racketeering, sex trafficking by force, and transportation to engage in prostitution. The accusations allege that Combs, 54, ran a criminal enterprise starting in 2008, using drugs and violence to coerce women into fulfilling his sexual desires. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Despite his defense team’s efforts, including a proposed $50 million bond, home detention, and other restrictions, the judge ruled against bail, citing concerns over potential obstruction of justice and witness tampering. Combs’ lawyers maintain his innocence, characterizing the charges as an “unjust prosecution.”
The indictment details claims of Combs’ involvement in organizing events dubbed “Freak Offs,” where women were allegedly given drugs to keep them compliant. During raids on his properties, authorities reportedly found firearms and controlled substances.
If convicted on all counts, Combs could face up to life in prison. The charges come after years of mounting allegations against him, including a civil lawsuit last year from his ex-girlfriend, singer Casandra Ventura, which was settled shortly after being filed.
