Another lawsuit has been filed against music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, according to TMZ.
Former model Crystal McKinney alleges that Combs enticed her with promises of career advancement in 2003 when she was 22 years old.
McKinney claims in her lawsuit that during a Men’s Fashion Week event in New York City, a then 33-year-old Combs invited her to his studio.
There, she alleges, Combs and others were drinking and smoking a joint. McKinney admits to taking a hit of the joint, which she believes may have been laced with a narcotic or other drug, leaving her feeling disoriented.
The former model accuses Combs of forcing her into a bathroom, kissing her, and coercing her to perform oral sex despite her refusal. She says she lost consciousness and woke up in a taxi, realizing she had been sexually assaulted.
TMZ notes that it’s unclear if her lawsuit refers solely to the alleged oral sex or to another act that may have occurred while she was unconscious.
McKinney claims that following the incident, she was blacklisted from the modeling industry, became severely depressed, and attempted suicide in 2004.
She decided to come forward after recent lawsuits were filed against Combs and is seeking unspecified damages.
This lawsuit follows a high-profile case filed last November by Diddy’s ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. Ventura accused Combs of rape, sex trafficking, and abuse.
Although that case was settled the following day, Combs issued a statement on Instagram denying “any of the awful things being alleged” and vowing to “fight for my name, my family, and for the truth.”
Last week, CNN released surveillance footage showing Combs physically abusing Ventura at a hotel in 2016. In response, Combs posted a video apology on Instagram on Sunday.
“I mean, I hit rock bottom but I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it, I’m disgusted now,” he said in the clip. He added, “I went and I sought out professional help and I had to go into therapy. We’re going to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry, but I’m committed to being a better man each and every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry.”
The Bad Boy founder did not mention Ventura in his one-minute apology video, likely due to the conditions of their settlement, which includes a strict non-disclosure agreement preventing them from publicly mentioning each other by name.
The L.A. County District Attorney’s Office has announced that no charges can be filed over the video due to the statute of limitations.
