Selena Gomez is determined to change the way society supports mental health.
On October 24, at the Rare Impact Fund Benefit, she shared her vision for accessible support spaces for those facing mental health challenges.
“My dream is to have places where people who are thinking bad thoughts…have the resources,” Selena shared on the red carpet. “I have big goals, big dreams, and I’m just starting, and it feels like a good start.”
As someone open about her own struggles—battling bipolar disorder and Lupus—Selena knows firsthand the importance of a strong support system.
“Sometimes, you just need someone to tell you, ‘I feel you’ or ‘Me too,'” she explained, noting how validation can foster healing and connection.
The Rare Beauty founder also highlighted that her journey has taught her valuable lessons about wellness beyond what’s seen online.
“Life is very complex and different,” she noted. “Everything isn’t a highlight reel.”
