Shakira is set to make a grand return to the music scene with her first album release in seven years.
Titled “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran” (Women Don’t Cry Anymore), the highly anticipated LP is scheduled to drop on March 22.
Notably, this album also marks Shakira’s debut release on vinyl, offering fans four distinct artwork editions, each paired with an exclusive colored vinyl variant.
In a statement, Shakira expressed her journey in creating the album, describing it as an “alchemical process” where she rebuilt herself through each song.
“While singing them, my tears transformed into diamonds, and my vulnerability into strength,” she stated.
The album’s title is inspired by empowering lyrics from Shakira’s Bizarrap session “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53,” where she boldly declared, “las mujeres ya no lloran, las mujeres facturan” (women don’t cry anymore, they make money).
Speculation about Shakira’s new album began swirling after she teased fans with a video on Sunday, featuring glimpses of her previously-released singles and hinting at the upcoming release.
With over 90 million followers on Instagram, Shakira’s announcement garnered significant attention and anticipation.
