Veteran Kenyan musician Kizo B, famous for his hit song Ulinibeep, has surfaced in a distressing video from a police cell in Shanzu, Mombasa County, pleading for help as he battles a legal case.
In a video posted on his Instagram page, the visibly shaken artist reached out to his fans for support, explaining the circumstances surrounding his arrest.
Kizo B said he was facing a case based on false accusations and had pleaded not guilty. He urged his followers to assist him in securing his release on bond.
“To all my fans, I ask for your support as you watch this video. I am currently in the Shanzu police cell in Shimo la Tewa, facing a case based on false accusations. I have pleaded not guilty and need to secure my release on bond. Please, I sincerely appeal to you for help. I need your support,” he said.
The singer, who had relocated to Mombasa to invest in land, now finds himself entangled in a legal battle. He has been accused of threatening someone’s life with a machete, an allegation he strongly denies.
Kizo B insists the accusations are baseless, adding that land ownership issues in Mombasa are often complicated due to a lack of proper documentation.
“I have been falsely accused of threatening someone’s life using a machete. I didn’t threaten anyone. These lands in Mombasa have no title deeds, and you can’t be sued over them even if disputes arise,” he explained, urging fans and well-wishers to support him in seeking justice.
This is not the first time Kizo B has reached out for help. Just two months ago, he posted a heartfelt message on his YouTube channel, asking his fans to support him in getting back to the studio. “I’m kind of stuck, that’s why I’m not producing any new songs. I love music, and I wish to sing more,” he said at the time.
As he fights to clear his name, the singer has also dismissed false reports of his death, revealing that his social media accounts had been hacked. To reassure his fans, he confirmed that he is alive and determined to overcome his current challenges.
