Taylor Swift seems to be making a playful nod to her relationship with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce in her latest merch drop, coinciding with National Boyfriend Day on October 3.
The collection, titled “The Greatest in the League,” is inspired by her album The Tortured Poets Department, particularly the track “The Alchemy,” which many fans speculate is about Kelce himself.
In the song, Taylor sings about finding a new partner after leaving behind “the clowns,” peppering the lyrics with sports references that seem to align with Kelce’s NFL career.
The chorus features lines like, “So when I touch down / Call the amateurs and / Cut ’em from the team,” and, “These blokes warm the benches / We been on a winning streak.”
The most telling lyric, however, is the mention of “the greatest in the league,” which fans believe is a direct nod to Kelce’s historic NFL accomplishments.
This tribute arrives just days after Kelce set a record for the most receptions in Chiefs history, surpassing Tony Gonzalez.
On his podcast New Heights, Travis expressed his deep respect for Gonzalez, explaining how the former player has motivated him throughout his career.
Taylor has been a steady presence at Kelce’s games, supporting him alongside his friends and family, including his mother Donna Kelce and the wife of his teammate, Brittany Mahomes.
Reflecting on their relationship, Taylor has emphasized their mutual support, previously stating, “I’m going to see him do what he loves. We’re showing up for each other.”
