Taylor Swift has taken rising talent Ice Spice under her wing, offering not only collaborative opportunities but also invaluable songwriting guidance.
Swift’s collaboration with Ice on a remix of “Karma” last year was just the beginning of their partnership.
The Bronx native revealed that her time with Swift in the studio yielded more than just a hit song; it provided her with essential advice for her burgeoning career.
“When I was in the studio with Taylor, like, I’ll never forget,” Ice shared with Billboard. “She told me, ‘No matter what, just keep making music and everything’s going to be fine.'”

Ice Spice has certainly heeded Swift’s words of wisdom. Following the success of their “Karma” remix, Ice embarked on a productive streak, releasing the deluxe version of her debut EP, “Like..?” in July. She followed up with three new singles by the end of 2023: “Deli,” “Pretty Girl,” and “Think U the Shit (Fart).” Impressively, both “Deli” and “Think U the Shit (Fart)” secured spots on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, entering at No. 41 and No. 37, respectively.
Now, Ice Spice is poised for the next phase of her career with the imminent release of her debut album. In a recent interview with Today, the 24-year-old artist confirmed that the project, titled “Y2K,” is nearing completion.
“It’s called Y2K,” she disclosed. “It’s almost finished, so I’m really excited.” Ice also shared the personal significance behind the album’s title, revealing, “I was [born on Y2K] and that’s why I decided to name it that,” paying homage to her birthdate on January 1, 2000.
