Tensions between Kody Brown and his only remaining wife, Robyn Brown, have reached a boiling point, as seen in the October 6 episode of Sister Wives.
In the wake of Kody’s estrangement from many of his older children, the couple’s relationship appears to be hanging by a thread.
According to text shown during the episode, the pair had a “heated exchange” before the cameras started rolling, prompting Kody to storm out of their Flagstaff, Arizona, home.
He later explained his decision to leave in a confessional, citing ongoing tension with his children.
“Robyn is extremely upset that I’m not reaching out more to my children,” Kody said. “I’m not going to sit here and fight… I need to take off.”
The friction between the two stems from Kody’s strained relationships with his older children, whom he shares with his former wives, Christine, Janelle, and Meri Brown.
Robyn, pushing for reconciliation, told Kody he needed to make more effort, despite his claims that his children had “betrayed” him.
“I’m not abandoning my children,” Kody argued. “But they’re adults.”
Robyn, clearly upset, countered, “But they’re kids!” She expressed her growing frustration with Kody’s refusal to make amends.
In her confessional, she admitted, “I’m having a hard time not losing respect for you a little bit.”
The tension has been building over several years, particularly following the breakdown of Kody’s marriages with Christine in 2021, Janelle in 2022, and Meri soon after.
Many of these rifts were fueled by disagreements over Kody’s handling of COVID-19 precautions and accusations of favoritism toward Robyn.
Robyn, however, urged Kody to be more proactive in reconnecting with his children, suggesting he should call, email, or even show up in person to bridge the gap.
But Kody remained adamant about not forcing reconciliation.
“When I get over that, those children who are open to me will get my attention,” he said, admitting his hot-headed nature could cause more harm if he tried now.
Despite Robyn’s pleas for Kody to promise he would keep trying, his reluctant response—”Okay, a little bit”—left her unsatisfied.
The preview for the next episode suggests the situation is only worsening, with Robyn praying on the floor and Kody expressing hopes to “save me and Robyn.”
