What if the perfect man—a 6-foot-5 finance bro with blue eyes and a trust fund—didn’t actually exist? That’s no problem for Megan Boni, the TikTok sensation who went viral this summer with a 19-second video describing this “ideal” partner. Despite the song’s catchy appeal, Megan (aka Girl on Couch) admits those traits aren’t exactly what she’s looking for in real life.
“Shocker: I’m not looking for a man in finance,” Megan exclusively revealed to E! News. “I’m really looking for someone who can balance me out, isn’t as funny as me, and who I’m attracted to.”
Partnering with SkinCeuticals for a remix of her hit song to promote their anti-wrinkle serum, P-TIOX, Megan emphasized the importance of finding someone who has their own passions. “I’m really independent,” the 27-year-old New Yorker shared. “I need my space, and I want someone who’s passionate about whatever they do, whether it’s finance or teaching.”
The inspiration behind her viral song? Dating burnout. “I was poking fun at girls—myself included, because I’m single—who want a boyfriend but have these crazy high standards,” Megan explained. “It’s a satire on how picky online dating can make us. I didn’t even know there were 6-foot-5 guys out there, but I love that.”
Megan’s overnight success has had a significant impact on her life, especially in the dating world. “My DMs were flooded for a long time,” she admitted. “It was fun, but overwhelming. Sometimes I’ll be on Hinge and a guy will mention he’s not 6-foot-5, and for some reason, that’s a turn-off.”
Her viral fame has also opened up new opportunities, including a collaboration with Grammy-winning DJ David Guetta. Megan joined him for performances in Las Vegas and Ibiza, and even received a record deal offer to write an album. But she turned it down, choosing to focus on her true passion: comedy.
“I had to decline the record deal because music isn’t really for me,” Megan explained. “I’d rather make people laugh. I’m taking acting classes now, and I hope to eventually audition for sitcoms or movies, but comedy is where I see myself.”
In the meantime, Megan is building her social media career, recently partnering with SkinCeuticals to empower women to invest in their skin. “Before becoming a full-time influencer, I didn’t have much of a skincare routine,” she admitted. “But now that my face is always on camera, I’m obsessed with this P-TIOX.”
As Megan looks forward to what’s next—whether it’s meeting a man in finance or pursuing a comedy career—she’s taking time to reflect on her whirlwind journey. “The summer of finance has concluded,” she wrote on Instagram, sharing a photo with David Guetta. “Craziest summer of my life!”
