Renowned musician Willy Paul has expressed his frustration over the deteriorating condition of Katani Road in Syokimau, calling out Mavoko MP Patrick Makau for failing to address the issue.
The singer hinted that he might join politics to push for better infrastructure.
In a strongly worded social media post, Willy Paul accused the legislator of neglecting the road despite years of complaints from residents.
He urged the MP to take immediate action, warning against temporary fixes.
“Katani Road is in a terrible state. Fix the road properly and stop the usual gimmicks. Build a new road because the funds are available!” he wrote.
The Sitolia hitmaker further warned that continued inaction could lead to the MP’s removal from office, even suggesting that he might run for the seat in the 2027 elections.
“You have taken us for granted for too long. Be careful, you might be recalled! You are not doing your job. If you want, I could contest against you in 2027. Residents are suffering,” he added.
After facing criticism regarding the legal process of recalling an MP, Willy Paul later clarified his statement, acknowledging that impeachment may not be an option but insisting that the legislator must be held accountable.
“There’s no mechanism to impeach an MP, but we can recall him. You can’t sit comfortably while failing to do your job. Katani Road is in a terrible state!” he stated.
