Big Sean recently shared his perspective on the Kendrick Lamar diss track that surfaced earlier this year, shedding light on the leaked alternate version of K. Dot’s 2017 DAMN. album track, “ELEMENT.”
Approached by TMZ on Wednesday, the Finally Famous rapper dismissed the notion of the leaked track being a diss. Sean Don emphasized that if it were truly intended as a diss, there would have been subsequent disses following it.
“Ain’t no diss,” he remarked, responding to TMZ’s inquiry about his friendship with Kendrick Lamar. Sean reassured that their friendship remains intact and reiterated that there was no need for concern, emphasizing the absence of additional diss tracks.
In the leaked version of “ELEMENT.,” Kendrick Lamar targeted several artists, including French Montana and Jay Electronica, and took a jab at Big Sean. The lyrics touched on subjects such as Sean’s alleged subliminal disses and his reputation being more tied to relationships than lyrical prowess.
While Kendrick Lamar’s verse mentioned, “Big Sean keep sneak dissin,’ I let it slide,” Sean Don seemed unfazed, downplaying any perceived tension between the two.
In the leaked lyrics, K. Dot continued to address the music industry landscape and referenced the Drake and Meek Mill feud, asserting his unique position in the rap game. The diss, while explicit, did not escalate into a full-fledged feud between the two acclaimed artists.
