Beyoncé’s success on the country music charts comes after she announced the release of “Texas Hold ‘Em” and another track titled “16 Carriages” during her Super Bowl appearance on February 11.
This isn’t the first time Dolly Parton has shown admiration for Beyoncé. In a 2022 interview on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, Parton expressed her hope that Beyoncé would one day cover her iconic song “Jolene.”
Parton praised Beyoncé’s talent and expressed her desire to hear “Jolene” performed in Beyoncé’s powerful style, akin to Whitney Houston’s rendition of Parton’s “I Will Always Love You.”
Parton’s “Jolene” has been covered by various artists over the years, including Lil Nas X, Miley Cyrus, Reba McEntire, and The White Stripes, showcasing the enduring influence of Parton’s music across genres.
