Kenyan music sensation Mejja is preparing to drop his first-ever solo album, marking a significant milestone in his illustrious career.
The artist, known for his witty storytelling and signature Genge sound, recently hinted at the project on Instagram, telling fans that he had been working on something special in silence.
Mejja, whose real name is Major Nameye Khadija, has been a dominant figure in the Kenyan music scene for over a decade.
He initially gained fame as part of Ghetto Clan before embarking on a solo journey that saw him release hit songs that resonated widely with fans.
His influence grew even further when he joined forces with Madtraxx and Kid Kora to form The Kansoul, a group that revolutionized Kenyan party music with chart-topping tracks such as Dabotap and No Woman No Party.
Following The Kansoul’s hiatus, Mejja firmly established himself as a solo powerhouse, delivering hits like Tabia Za Wakenya, Ulimi Yangu, and Siskii. His humorous yet insightful lyrics, combined with his unique flow, have earned him a loyal fan base across generations.
