Halsey is feeling incredibly lucky in love with actor Avan Jogia, and it turns out wedding bells are in their future! The Without Me singer has officially confirmed her engagement to the Victorious alum nearly a year after they first went public with their relationship.
After a post on X (formerly Twitter) suggested that Halsey “hopes to marry boyfriend Avan Jogia,” the singer quickly set the record straight. Reposting the Sept. 11 tweet, Halsey added, “***fiancé Avan Jogia,” making their engagement status crystal clear.
The couple, who made a stunning appearance at the 2024 MTV VMAs, had already hinted at their future plans. When asked whether marriage was on the horizon during a red carpet interview with E! News’ Will Marfuggi, Halsey, 29, coyly responded, “I hope so.” She went on to gush about her 32-year-old fiancé, calling him “the best” and adding, “Every single day that I get to spend with him is one where I just feel like I’m with my best friend.”
Jogia has also seamlessly become part of Halsey’s family, developing a close relationship with her 3-year-old son, Ender, whom she shares with ex-partner Alev Aydin. “They’re best friends, too,” she shared. “They’re inseparable.”
Engagement rumors first sparked over the summer when the pair were spotted enjoying a romantic picnic in New York City, with fans noticing a new ring on Halsey’s finger. Though they kept mum at the time, the speculation has now been confirmed.
Halsey, who recently opened up about her private health struggles with lupus and a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder, reflected on meeting Avan during the She MD podcast in August. She admitted that beginning a relationship while managing the challenges of being a single mom and dealing with a serious illness wasn’t easy. “When I met my partner, I was a single mom and I thought I was on my deathbed, basically,” she said.
Despite her fears of “scaring him off,” Avan proved to be the perfect partner. “He has the ability to really show up in a way that has given me so much healing,” Halsey explained. “I am grateful every day that it was him.”
