Memphis-based artist Hitkidd recently disclosed the behind-the-scenes details of a missed opportunity to assemble a powerhouse collaboration featuring some of the hottest women artists in the music industry.
In a series of messages shared on Sunday, Hitkidd claimed that Nicki Minaj expressed interest in joining the remix of his and GloRilla’s hit single “F.N.F. (Let’s Go).”
While initially contemplating a remix that could feature a lineup of prominent female artists, including Nicki Minaj, Hitkidd ultimately decided to limit the remix to Latto and JT, citing a commitment he had made to them.
Despite turning down Nicki Minaj’s participation, Hitkidd clarified that it was a “moral decision” and expressed his determination to “change the game” by uniting a diverse group of artists on a single track.
In a surprising revelation, Hitkidd disclosed that Cardi B had also expressed interest in joining the remix, and he even reached out to Megan Thee Stallion to gauge her interest. His intention, as he stated, was to “change the game and put the hottest women artists on one song.”

However, potential tensions between Cardi B and Nicki Minaj might pose challenges to having both artists on the same track. In a 2020 Apple Music interview, Cardi acknowledged Nicki’s success and longevity in the industry without explicitly mentioning her name, highlighting the history of female rap dominance and the challenges that arise when new talents emerge.
Last year, Cardi publicly praised Hitkidd and GloRilla’s “F.N.F. (Let’s Go),” dubbing it the “song of the summer.” The positive relationship between Cardi and the artists led to their collaboration on “Tomorrow 2.”
Responding to a fan’s suggestion of dropping more remixes, Hitkidd hinted at a potential remix featuring Saweetie, expressing gratitude for her support and indicating a desire to release it for the fans. The intricate dynamics of assembling a star-studded remix and navigating potential collaborations offer an intriguing glimpse into the evolving landscape of the music industry.
