Ice Spice surprised fans during her set at the first weekend of the Coachella festival by debuting a new song.
The track, part of her upcoming debut album titled “Y2K,” samples the beloved Sean Paul single “Gimme The Light” from 2002, adding a fresh twist to the dancehall and reggae vibes.
The untitled song, featuring Ice Spice’s signature drill style, showcases her lyrical prowess as she delivers lines like, “Big knock like I’m not a fighter/Big Ice I don’t need a writer/Ya man calling me baby/I’m his poopie like I need a diaper!” The track was expertly produced by her in-house producer, RIOTUSA.
Ice Spice has been teasing her debut album for some time now, recently announcing its completion with a post on social media.
With no official release date yet, fans eagerly anticipate the drop, especially after Ice Spice hinted at a major collaboration on the project during an appearance on The Today Show earlier this year.
Explaining the significance of the album’s title, Ice Spice revealed that “Y2K” pays homage to her date of birth — January 1, 2000.

She also teased that the album will feature more “classic” material, setting high expectations for her fans.
RIOTUSA, her producer, further stoked anticipation by hinting at their collaboration on the album and promising new hits in 2024.
Ice Spice’s previous EP, “Like..?”, garnered significant success, peaking at No. 15 on the Billboard 200 chart and producing hit singles like “In Ha Mood,” “Deli,” and “Princess Diana” featuring Nicki Minaj.
