Kobe Bryant’s legacy continues to shine, thanks to a heartfelt gesture from designer Kristin Juszczyk. Known for her viral Chiefs jersey creation for Taylor Swift earlier this year, Kristin has now turned her creative talents towards honoring the Bryant family. Her latest project? Custom clothing pieces that pay tribute to the late basketball icon, particularly for his eldest daughter, Natalia Bryant.
Natalia, 21, recently sported a pair of Kobe-inspired pants—emblazoned with his iconic Lakers jersey numbers 8 and 24—at the Mamba League Invitational in late August. The designer shared that creating these pieces was deeply meaningful for her. “It meant the world to me to be able to design something for her to honor not only her dad, but her sister as well,” Kristin said, referring to Gianna Bryant, who tragically passed away with Kobe in a helicopter crash in January 2020. “I lost my mom when I was 18, and there’s nothing better than when I put on a piece of her clothing. It just feels like a hug.”
Kristin’s goal was to create something special for Natalia—something that would feel both protective and comforting. And it seems she succeeded, as Vanessa Bryant, Kobe’s widow, expressed her appreciation with a sweet message and a kiss emoji on Instagram.
For Kristin, moments like these fuel her passion for design. Despite discovering her love for it later in life, she’s embraced the craft wholeheartedly. Married to NFL player Kyle Juszczyk since 2019, Kristin has turned what started as a hobby into a flourishing career. “I realized there was a gap in the market, and it just felt like a natural progression,” she explained.
As football season kicks off, Kristin is also teaming up with Gatorade for a special collaboration that celebrates inclusivity in sports. “Gatorade encapsulates culture, sports, and fashion, which really mimics my life,” she shared. “I’m passionate about the growth of women in sports, whether as athletes or fans. To see my name associated with theirs is such a huge accomplishment.”
Kristin Juszczyk continues to merge her love for design with her dedication to honoring legends and promoting inclusivity, proving that fashion can be as powerful as it is stylish.
