Lila Moss is embracing her fashion legacy, showcasing the talents inherited from her mother, Kate Moss, as they both made their runway debuts at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in New York City on October 15.
At the age of 50, Kate dazzled the audience in a black lingerie set layered with a sheer, lace, floor-length gown, complete with striking black feather wings and strappy black heels.
She lit up the catwalk to the sounds of “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll,” performed by Australian musician Orianthi.
In contrast, 22-year-old Lila, daughter of Kate and ex-boyfriend Jefferson Hack, sported a delicate blush pink underwear set accentuated by oversized pink feathered sleeves.
She paired her look with sleek silver heels and showcased a unique art piece on her shoulders that read “Lila M.”
While the mother-daughter duo doesn’t often share the runway, the Victoria’s Secret show wasn’t their first collaboration.
Earlier in April, they both featured in a Fendi advertisement, donning matching tan sweaters and sporting similar blonde hairstyles.
Additionally, they were spotted together at Paris Fashion Week, where they sat front row at the Dior Homme show.
Kate is thrilled to work alongside her daughter and is especially proud of Lila’s growth.
“Lila is so much more grown-up than I was in my 20s,” she shared in a November interview with British Vogue.
“She understands she can say no, which I never did, and she has the right people around her – I’ve made sure of that. Let’s face it, she’s a lot more sensible than I was back then. I mean… thank God.”
Lila has come to appreciate her mother’s iconic status.
“When I started school, I began to realize how fascinated people were by ‘Kate Moss, the supermodel,’” Lila recounted in the same interview. “She was still just the person who wouldn’t let me use my phone at the dinner table and made me come home from parties in Notting Hill earlier than any of my friends. It’s only at around 15 or 16 that I began to realize she might actually be pretty cool.”
One area where Kate allows Lila to carve her own path is in developing her signature runway walk.
“She’s like, ‘You just have to feel it. I don’t know what I do. I just do it!’” Lila explained. “I’m like, ‘Cool—off to practice some more, then.’”
