Part of Lincoln Museum is set to close for redevelopment starting on 14 October, as the main archaeology gallery undergoes significant updates.
The project will introduce interactive displays and refurbish the outdoor courtyard, bringing fresh experiences to visitors.
A spokesperson for the museum shared that these improvements will allow for the display of artefacts that have not been seen “in a long time, or ever before,” adding a new dimension to the museum’s exhibitions.
Despite the renovations, the museum’s popular Muse Café and Usher Gallery will remain open throughout the process.
The redevelopment is expected to be completed by the end of 2025, offering a modernized space for both returning and new visitors.
Lindsey Cawrey from Lincolnshire County Council emphasized the importance of reimagining how Lincolnshire’s history is told.
“This is also an opportunity for us to showcase other items from our collection… whilst still keeping those artefacts and objects that visitors love seeing time and time again,” she said.
