Nicki Minaj took to her X page on Friday to publicly acknowledge Drake’s significant role in her latest album, Pink Friday 2.
In a heartfelt message, Nicki praised Drake as a great friend and credited him for being an indispensable part of her musical journey.
She expressed admiration for Drake’s impact on her career, emphasizing that he has provided invaluable support that might not be fully understood by her fanbase, known as the Barbz.
“You’re like a #needle life’s a haystack. Friends- they could go…but, you could stay back,” Nicki wrote conveying her appreciation for Drake’s enduring friendship. She playfully referenced his influence on Canadian culture, humorously suggesting that he invented a faraway land called Canada.
Nicki continued to highlight the depth of their connection, revealing that Drake’s presence in “GagCity” and “BagCity” added an essential dimension to her album.
Nicki Minaj didn’t shy away from crediting Drake’s collaboration on track number 9, titled “Needle,” as a vital contribution to the completeness of Pink Friday 2.
She noted his entrepreneurial ventures, including his ownership of a line of jets and playfully referenced his love for gambling in casinos.

The rapper further dedicated lyrics to Drake in the album closer, “Just The Memories,” where she expressed gratitude for their relationship and her unwavering support for Lil Wayne.
In a nod to their camaraderie, Nicki rapped, “I told Drake that he don’t owe me nothin’, never did / I pray that Wayne always remembered that I never slid / Look at all the shit that y’all threw at me, and I never dipped.”
Aside from Drake, Nicki Minaj also gave a shoutout to fellow rapper J. Cole, who features on the album. She shared details of a profound two-hour conversation with Cole, expressing how his impactful verse on the track “Let Me Calm Down” moved her to tears.
Pink Friday 2, released on December 8, boasts a total of 22 tracks and features collaborations with J. Cole, Lil Wayne, Tate Kobang, Lourdiz, Lil Uzi Vert, Skillibeng, Skeng, Future, and Tasha Cobbs Leonard.
