Stranger Things star Sadie Sink is rumored to join the cast of Spider-Man 4, according to reports from Hollywood publication Deadline.
If confirmed, she would star alongside Tom Holland, who is set to reprise his role as Peter Parker in the highly anticipated sequel.
While her character has not yet been revealed, fans are speculating that she could portray Jean Grey, a powerful mutant from the X-Men franchise.
Neither Marvel Studios nor Sony Pictures have officially confirmed Sink’s casting, as is common in Hollywood, where trade publications often report casting news before studios make formal announcements.
This can occur for various reasons, such as ongoing contract negotiations, strategic leaks to gauge fan reactions, or an actor’s agent generating buzz. In some instances, however, the casting does not materialize.
The previous Spider-Man installment, No Way Home (2021), was a massive success, grossing $1.9 billion worldwide.
It ended with Peter Parker erasing his existence from the memories of his loved ones, including MJ (Zendaya) and Ned (Jacob Batalon), after a multiverse-breaking event brought back past Spider-Men played by Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield.
Given this setup, Deadline suggests that Spider-Man 4 will likely introduce new characters, potentially including Sink’s rumored role.
Holland is currently filming The Odyssey, directed by Oppenheimer’s Christopher Nolan, and is expected to transition to Spider-Man 4 after completing that project.
Meanwhile, Sink has just wrapped filming the final season of Stranger Things, the hit Netflix series that helped launch her career alongside co-stars Millie Bobby Brown, Noah Schnapp, and Finn Wolfhard.
She also stars in the musical O’Dessa, which premiered at the SXSW film festival, and is set to appear in the Broadway play John Proctor is the Villain, running in New York until June.
With Spider-Man 4 scheduled for a July 2026 release, fans eagerly await confirmation of Sink’s role and further updates on the film’s expanding ensemble cast.
