Singer Sam Ryder is excited to perform at Hastings’ White Rock Theatre on December 5, calling the venue “off the beaten track” of his usual tour stops and believing that such shows often bring out the best crowds.
Ryder, who came second in the 2022 Eurovision Song Contest representing the UK, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming performance, his first at the White Rock.
Speaking to BBC Radio Sussex, Ryder reflected on how smaller, less conventional locations can offer unique concert experiences.
“The character of the people who come to those shows and the energy is another level,” he said, adding that he was grateful for the fans attending.
Ryder also hinted that fans can expect to hear songs from his debut album one last time before he releases his highly anticipated second album.
Originally from Maldon, Essex, Ryder began his music career at 14 and shared how meaningful it is for him to perform in venues like the White Rock.
“It means a great deal to be able to put these shows up and to come and play in these venues,” he said.
In 2023, Ryder was nominated for Best New Artist at the Brit Awards, making history as the first Eurovision act to receive a nomination in this category.
Fans attending his upcoming show can expect an unforgettable performance as Ryder continues to grow in his music career.
