Anna Delvey, the infamous subject of Inventing Anna who was convicted of larceny for allegedly posing as a German heiress, is showcasing an unexpected talent on Dancing With the Stars (DWTS). During an exclusive joint interview with her DWTS partner Ezra Sosa after the Season 33 premiere on September 17, it was revealed that Delvey can perform a stunning leg-behind-the-head move.
“She can put her leg behind her head,” Sosa told E! News. “She literally did it today and I’m like, ‘Girl, where was this on day one?'” To which Delvey responded with a playful, “You never asked!”
Despite her surprising flexibility, Delvey admitted that participating in DWTS is a new and challenging experience for her. “I’m not a performer, so it’s something new,” she shared. “I learned a lot and hopefully I’ll learn a lot moving forward.”
Amid the backlash over her casting on DWTS, Delvey remains undeterred. Having served her prison sentence and repaid her restitutions, she believes she deserves a chance to move forward. “People should give me a chance,” she said. “I repaid my restitutions and I served my time. I should be afforded a chance to move on.”
Handling criticism is nothing new for Delvey. “I’ve been through trial. I’ve been through a couple of scandals,” she noted, referencing her past legal troubles. She added with humor, “This is a dancing show, so hopefully I’m not going to be reincarcerated for dancing badly.”
