Country music star Morgan Wallen has been sentenced to two years’ probation after throwing a chair from the roof of Chief’s bar, a six-story venue in downtown Nashville owned by fellow country star Eric Church.
The 31-year-old Last Night singer also pleaded guilty to two counts of reckless endangerment and must complete a seven-day driving-under-the-influence education program.
The incident occurred on April 7 during the bar’s opening weekend when Wallen hurled the chair onto Broadway, a busy street known for its live music venues.
He was arrested the following day but released shortly after. Wallen issued a public apology, acknowledging his misconduct.
“I’ve touched base with Nashville law enforcement, my family, and the good people at Chief’s,” he wrote on social media. “I’m not proud of my behavior, and I accept responsibility.”
This is not Wallen’s first encounter with the law. In May 2020, he was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct outside Kid Rock’s honky-tonk bar in Nashville.
In 2021, he faced widespread backlash after being caught on video shouting a racial slur outside his Tennessee home.
The fallout led to the loss of his recording contract, removal from country radio playlists, and a three-year suspension from the Country Music Awards.
Despite past controversies, Wallen has seen career resurgence, earning the CMA Entertainer of the Year award last month.
Known for hits like I Had Some Help and his chart-topping album One Thing at a Time, he continues to be a prominent figure in country music while facing the consequences of his past actions.
