Pop icon Britney Spears has opened up about a terrifying incident earlier this year that nearly sent her to the emergency room.
In a candid video posted on September 30, the 42-year-old singer recounted a dangerous moment when her fireplace unexpectedly blew up in her face, causing significant burns and hair loss.
Britney shared that the incident happened six months ago when she decided to light the fireplace in her room. “I turned the fire on, and all of a sudden, it blew up in my face,” she recalled.
Despite having been cautious with the fireplace in the past, often relying on security to light it for her, this time she took matters into her own hands, which unfortunately led to disaster.
The explosion resulted in Britney losing her eyelashes, eyebrows, and a portion of her hair.
“It took all my eyelashes off and my eyebrows,” she explained, pointing to the baby bangs she now has. “This is from six months ago. It fizzled all my hair.”
Britney detailed the panic she felt in the aftermath of the accident, fearing that she might need to rush to the hospital due to the pain.
“My face was on fire,” she said, describing how she struggled to wake the person she was with, adding that her burns were so severe it hurt just to touch her skin.
Despite the frightening ordeal, Britney eventually found relief after hours of discomfort.
“Finally, I took three Tylenol, which is a really big deal for me,” she said, admitting that she typically avoids medication.
Luckily, after taking the painkillers, she was able to sleep and start the healing process.
While she didn’t reveal if she ended up visiting the hospital, Britney reassured fans that she’s doing much better now.
“It was really bad, but all is good now,” she concluded. “It happens.”
This revelation is yet another glimpse into the singer’s personal life, as she continues to navigate her newfound freedom following the end of her conservatorship.
Fans are relieved to hear that the Toxic singer is recovering and in good spirits after such a frightening experience.
