The release of the Duchess of Sussex’s new Netflix lifestyle series has been delayed until March due to the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles, Netflix confirmed.
The series, filmed in southern California, was originally set to premiere this Wednesday.
In light of the catastrophic fires, which have claimed at least 16 lives and forced hundreds of thousands to evacuate their homes, Netflix expressed its full support for Meghan’s decision to postpone the premiere.
The company noted that the show, titled With Love, Meghan, is a tribute to the beauty of Southern California and that the premiere would be rescheduled to 4 March out of respect for the devastation caused by the fires.
Meghan, who resides in Montecito, California, with her husband Prince Harry and their two children, expressed gratitude for Netflix’s support in rescheduling the show.
“I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California,” she said in a statement.
The lifestyle series, which includes eight 30-minute episodes, features appearances from celebrities such as actress Mindy Kaling and former Suits star Abigail Spencer.
In the show’s trailer, Meghan is seen preparing food and harvesting honey in the California countryside.
On Friday, the couple was spotted in Pasadena, where they were seen comforting residents affected by the devastating fires.
