In a dynamic week for Lil Yachty, the rapper has not only graced Tyler, the Creator’s newly unveiled le FLEUR lookbook but has also collaborated with Southside on the much-awaited track “Gimme da Lite.”
The song, accompanied by an official music video, is another addition to Yachty’s extensive collaboration history with the 808 Mafia boss, including hits like “Menace,” “Boat Skirrt,” “Das Cap,” and “Flex Up,” among others.*
Fans had been eagerly awaiting the release of “Gimme da Lite” since mid-November when Lil Yachty offered a preview during ComplexCon 2023.
The track is now available for streaming on Apple Music, Spotify, and other major platforms, with the music video accessible on YouTube.
The release of “Gimme da Lite” follows closely on the heels of Lil Yachty’s remix of “Never Lose Me,” the latest single from Flo Milli’s upcoming album, Fine Ho, Stay, expected to drop in the coming months.

In the track, Lil Yachty delivers memorable lines: “You so hood, I’m so bougie, with a flash, we can turn this into Tubi; I’ma snack on your booty like Scooby; I’ma roll the Rolls-Royce like a Rubi; Squirt like a dolphin, my mouth a jacuzzi.”
Recently, Lil Yachty discussed his approach to lyricism in a conversation with Tierra Whack for Rolling Stone’s “Musicians on Musicians” series. Reflecting on his unique journey, Yachty pointed to his presence in the 2016 XXL Freshman Class alongside artists such as 21 Savage, Kodak Black, Lil Uzi Vert, and Desiigner. He emphasized his decision to avoid certain topics, choosing not to glorify negativity in his lyrics.
