Mariah the Scientist found herself in legal trouble after being implicated in a nightclub altercation that occurred in Atlanta earlier this year.
The incident, which reportedly took place at Cavo Kitchen and Cocktail Lounge on March 29, resulted in Mariah—whose legal name is Mariah Amani Buckles—facing accusations of assault.
According to TMZ Hip Hop, the alleged victim, identified as Cleopatra Dues, reported the incident to Fulton County police the day after the altercation.
Dues claimed that Mariah assaulted her without provocation during the incident, which was captured on camera and shared on social media platforms.
Dues informed law enforcement officers that she had not interacted with Mariah or any members of her entourage prior to the attack. D
espite initially being unable to identify her assailant due to not wearing her glasses at the time of the incident, Dues later identified Mariah as the perpetrator.
During the altercation, Dues alleged that Mariah forcibly removed a wig from her head before dragging her across a table and the floor, resulting in injuries to her feet and leg. Feeling unsafe, Dues left the scene and subsequently contacted emergency services.
On May 1, Mariah was arrested and charged with simple battery in connection with the incident. TMZ reports that she was released on bond later the same day.
Meanwhile, Dues has requested surveillance footage from Cavo Kitchen and Cocktail Lounge to support her claims.
Video footage of the altercation surfaced in March, leading to speculation that it involved Staten Island rapper Cleopatra.
However, Cleopatra debunked these rumors in a social media post on March 28, asserting that she was not involved in any physical altercations and urging others to refrain from spreading false information about her.
