Madison LeCroy, star of Southern Charm, has shared an emotional update with fans regarding her husband Brett Randle’s recent health struggles.
During the December 12 episode of the Bravo series, Madison revealed that Brett was diagnosed with thyroid cancer towards the end of last year, just around their one-year wedding anniversary.
“Unfortunately, Brett was diagnosed with thyroid cancer,” the 34-year-old said in a confessional. “I thought, ‘Like, how? I’m finally happy.’ It’s just scary.”
Though Brett insisted he felt “pretty good” after surgery, he admitted to still struggling with swallowing, saying it felt like “a marble that’s stuck there.”
He mentioned that he would need to see specialists and possibly undergo therapy for it.
Despite the health challenges, Brett remained positive, adding, “It’s alright, I’m getting used to it,” and Madison, supportive as ever, reassured him, “We’ll get you fixed.”
While Brett stays optimistic, Madison has been struggling with the emotional toll of the situation.
“I’m thankful that Brett was able to go in and they removed a three-centimeter nodule,” she said, reflecting on the positive outcome of the surgery, as the cancer was removed.
However, the complications that followed have been difficult for her to cope with. “I feel like we can’t catch a f–king break,” she admitted.
As for her 11-year-old son Hudson, Madison has been careful not to burden him with the details of Brett’s illness, but she did explain to him that Brett was sick.
“I try not to let Hudson see me emotional because I have to be strong for my family,” Madison shared.
Despite Brett’s improving health, Madison confesses that she still has tough days. “Some days I just want to, like, scream,” she said.
Personal challenges, like questions about having more children, have also been tough to handle. “We were just kind of starting to plan. But that’s on pause for now,” she added.
