Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor are living proof that Hollywood love stories don’t need to follow a script!
Since they began dating in 2015, the duo has charmed fans with their unique dynamic, each shining in their own right, from Paulson’s starring role in Ocean’s 8 to Taylor’s memorable performance in Two and a Half Men.
And even though they both have Emmys to boast about, Sarah still turns to Holland for career advice now and then.
“I absolutely ask her acting advice,” Sarah revealed in a playful chat with E! News on Oct. 3.
But it seems Holland doesn’t exactly return the favor.
“She weirdly doesn’t ask me very much for acting advice, which is kind of hurtful,” Paulson quipped, poking fun at their relationship.
Despite leaning on each other for guidance, they’re both fiercely independent when it comes to selecting roles.
Sarah, 49, noted, “We trust and admire each other’s thinking, but we don’t seek approval for the parts we take on.”
However, there’s one area where Sarah draws the line—Holland’s unconventional way of memorizing lines! “Holland has the most psychotic way of learning lines,” Sarah joked.
She recounted how Holland insists on focusing on the verbs, which, according to Taylor, carry the action of the dialogue. But Sarah’s not exactly sold on the technique.
“The amount of mental gymnastics I have to do… it just is too much!” she laughed.
While their acting styles might differ, one thing they both agree on is skipping traditional steps in their relationship.
Despite dating for nearly a decade, wedding bells aren’t in their future.
In fact, Holland admitted during an interview on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live in August, “No, we’ve never talked about it with any interest.”
And the key to their lasting love? They don’t live together! Sarah shared this relationship secret on the SmartLess podcast, explaining, “We spend plenty of time together, but we don’t live in the same house.”
